U2’s formation history begins with Larry Mullen Jr., who in 1976 posted an advertisement on the bulletin board at Mount Temple Comprehensive School in Dublin. Larry, then only a fourteen-year-old drummer, was looking for people interested in forming a rock band. In response to his ad, Bono, The Edge (David Evans), and Adam Clayton replied.
